Last week, I told you about the new Taylor Maid Farms brand video, but this week, I get to tell you about our improved look. It's plain to see: the moving header on the homepage, the updated brand colors, and the new-and-improved, modernized logo.
These (continuing) improvements couldn't have happened without Graphic Designer Aileen Almazora, who intuitively knew who we were and what we wanted to be. A Sonoma County local herself, she has designed user experiences for Looksharp and responsive site designs at The Engine is Red. She's one of the many local talents we're super grateful to know.
How SoCo Videography developed a voice
When we started SoCo Videography just last summer, we were a small team of three. Julian and Stefan are the videographers. They are on the floor with their lenses and their tripod, gliding the camera about on wheels. They spend the long nights splicing clips and color-grading video to create the perfect mood.
But as any successful business owner knows, the talent needs to be unified in a voice, which we have been striving to develop since day one.
Inspiration for the New Brand Design
I've built the SoCo Videography website thinking about only one thing: our shared love for Sonoma County. We have a tight-knit economy that's as charming as it is sustainable and intelligent. I want Sonoma County to know that we have a rich (and growing) film culture here. Local businesses no longer need to search elsewhere for film talent. We're right here, and with plenty more recommendations for local talent if you need them.
In order for our brand to work meaningfully, our voice needed to be filled with love and full of promise. Our colors — now a granite black, a sharp white, and a light cream — are subtle enough to compliment any video showcase we have to share. Our logo, which is long, crisp, and bold, pairs well with dark, busy backgrounds or moving pictures. We're modern, tasteful, and we're here to stay.
Sonoma County's Only Getting Cooler
From The Barlow in Sebastopol to The Engine is Red in downtown Santa Rosa, Sonoma County is getting cooler. Millennials are soon to outnumber baby boomers in Sonoma County, and that shift is showing in the way we shop and the way we interact with local businesses.
Our unique culture is blending the SF tech side with Sonoma County's agricultural roots. We worship the Go Local movement, yet we move forward to newer, smarter, sustainable practices. While we grew up in a county that we love, we're also looking to a new future and an even stronger economy.
So don't be afraid to hit us up for a new video, for video advice, or for service service recommendations. We're only an email away, and probably a short drive too. :)
